The numbers are shocking, but always remember that money doesn’t solve problems. Even if everyone in the Church gave 10%, the world would still be plagued with hunger, water shortages, war, disease and strife. We can throw money at them all day long and they won’t go away.
I did like the article’s point about giving being about the heart, not the money. It’s an important distinction that doesn’t always get heard.

Thanks for the article – and for introducing me to Relevant Media Group. I’m not a twenty-to-thirty-something, so probably would not have found it otherwise. Michael Holmes makes a most significant point when he says giving is a matter of the heart. I have contended for years that people rob themselves of some of the greatest joys possible by their failure to give. Ten percent IS only the starting point! But wouldn’t it be great if all Christians at least got started?
